Dear friends:
First of all, let me thank you for your participation in the themes already discussed here, especially the last one that had an excellent participation.
Thank you...
Today I bring you a new question that I know divides the opinions very much. Learning Full Back.
How do you prefer to approach this skill?
Do they opt for Arabian as a first approach, or do they prefer to use 3/4 Back or Back A?
Even if you end up using more than one approach, which one is your favorite? What is used first?
What are the advantages of either approach?
To begin the discussion, I share a bit of my vision. Although I consider that Arabian is an essential and mandatory skill for any gymnast who has aspirations to reach a little further, I rarely use it to learning Full.
Arabian is not an easy-to-get skill for most kids and sometimes leads to Full's takeover process being too time-consuming. On the other hand, if the gymnast does not get a very good Arabian, he will tend to travel too much on Full.
In another sense, the Arabian adds the advantage of a very good view of the bed during the jump and facilitates the arrival at 2Full. It also has an excellent transfer to other more complex elements, namely multiples.
The Back A or 3/4 Back A help to solve the problem of rotation (lack of feet) that is common in Arabian and allow to arrive faster to Full. The displacement tends to be smaller and the verticality of the jump is more easily achieved.
Aesthetically I also prefer the Full acquired by the Back or 3/4, especially by the action of the arms.
